Nickelodeon Hotel

I have to say this was the best family vacation we've taken. It was so great having food, entertainment, and our room right there. The kids were entertained which meant we could have some fun relaxing. We went with our friends Rob and Becky. They have 3 kids. We were able to hang out at night and play cards when the kids went to bed because we had adjoining rooms. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone with kids.

This was the view outside our room.

Can we go, please??

I think she likes me.

Gavin's first kiss with another woman!!

Gavin at the arcade.

Miles went down every slide at the hotel.....until he got caught. He missed the mark by a few inches. The first day no one said anything, but no such luck the next few days. He had fun anyway. We will take him back when he gets a little bit taller.

Gavin had a huge smile on his face each time he came down the slide.

Here's Gavin-no fear. Miles, at Gavin's age, wouldn't have done this. Gavin will try anything.

Miles on the slide.

This is Miles getting his airbrushed tattoo.

The boys posing with their fake tattoos. Miles has a guitar. He went around the rest of the day with his sleeve rolled up so he could look at his tattoo(I think Gerald did as well b/c he wants a real one).

Every once in awhile Gavin gets a few looks that remind me of my dad. This is one of them.

Gavin is so proud of himself.

My sister's in town visiting for the week. So far we've been to the beach, the movies, and the pool. I'm posting a few photos, but for some reason I don't have any photos of my sister. I think it is because we've only had the camera out when we've been in our swimsuits. We're not to fond of photos of ourselves in swimsuits. I will post photos of our trip to the Nickelodeon Hotel soon.

Gavin is showing off his rock he found in the pool.

I'm not really sure what Miles is doing here, but it made me laugh.

Miles teacher from mom's day out described Miles as a 30 year old man in 3 year old body. I thought that summed him up pretty well. Miles likes things to be a certain way and he likes following the rules. Most of the time, this makes him an easy child to parent. Miles is also beginning to show his heart more and more. The other day I was showing Miles a magazine from world vision. One of my convictions, as a parent, is teach Miles compassion for people that are less fortunate. In a world that is full of materialism, that is not an easy task. Anyhow, I was explaining to him that the girl in the magazine did not have a house, clothes, or toys. It had all been destroyed in the earthquake. When I finished he said mommy can we give her something. We have so many moments in a day with our children that are spent giving direction or discipling. I have been trying to stop and take note of the work God is beginning in Miles heart and praying for it continue. One more story to share........Miles gets tickets for a reward system at home. The other day I was giving him a ticket and he said mommy I already have so many. Why don't you save that one for yourself. You're a good mommy. My sweet boy. He talks non-stop so sometimes we tend to block out all the talking or we're just overwhelmed by the constant chatter. I have discovered that his constant talking is where we receive some of our sweetest moments with him as well.

Although Gavin is smiling in this photo, do not be deceived. He was so fussy after the park at the restaurant I had to take my food to go. To his defense when we got home I realized he was funning a fever. I guess when he slept until almost ten that morning it should have been my first clue to stay at home.

They look like they're almost the same size in this photo!
